Gainsborough town restoration complete with our Victorian Shop Front Awnings

The Gainsborough Townscape Heritage Initiative in the Historic heart of Gainsborough is transforming the town centre through heritage-led regeneration, which includes a storefront improvement scheme. The scheme specified that the Victorian Awning Company would install authentic shop front awnings for several stores as part of this programme.

The Victorian shop front awning has been integral to the British High Street for centuries, and we have ensured our Victorian awnings still follow the traditional design that has passed the test of time. The timber used for the box and lath on our Victorian shop front awning is sourced from 100% approved FSC hardwood, steel fittings are now powder coated rather than lead paint, and UV and soil-resistant fabric covers are utilised in the fabrication of our Victorian shop front awnings, meeting all the heritage requirements of this project.

The Victorian Awning – A Very British Awning

The Victorian Awning has long been regarded as an elegant and timeless solution to complete any shopfront or fascia. The Victorian is hand-crafted and its features include a classic hardwood housing, steel-forged arms and a specially developed weather-proof fabric covering. These features give the awning a traditional, yet robust quality which is much sought after across the world. The awning is also extremely customisable and has been used in a broad range of applications to achieve a contrasting aesthetic.
